Fan coil units

Fan coil units for zone-level cooling and heating in commercial and support areas, connected to chilled or hot water from the central plant.

Ceiling-suspended fan coil unit

Local comfort, connected to the central plant.

A fan coil unit recirculates room air across a water coil to cool or heat a single zone. It is a simple, serviceable way to give offices, laboratories, control rooms and support areas their own temperature control.

Ceiling-concealed fan coil unit, operating principle Room air is drawn through a return grille, filtered, moved by the fan across a chilled-water coil and supplied back to the room through a diffuser. Room Chilled water Conditioned air

Operating principle

  1. Return air

Room air is drawn into the unit through a return grille.

  2. Filter

A washable or replaceable filter catches dust before the coil.

  3. Coil

Chilled or hot water from the central plant flows through the coil; a control valve modulates it to hold set-point.

  4. Supply

The fan delivers conditioned air back to the zone. Condensate drains from the pan.

Specifications

Reference data and the parameters we size for each project.

ParameterProject-specific units
Unit typesCeiling concealed, exposed and cassette, per project
Coil configuration2-pipe or 4-pipe
Fan motorMulti-speed or EC, per project
StatusSupplied to project requirements
Project-specific selections are confirmed in the technical proposal for each enquiry.

Right-sized

Capacity is selected for the zone load, so units run steadily instead of cycling.

Quiet

Fan speed and discharge arrangement are chosen for the acoustic needs of the room.

Easy to service

Filters, drain pans and valves are reachable without removing the unit.
