Humidity control. Engineered at home.

Two development programmes, one goal: industrial humidity control that Pakistani industry can source, service and customise locally.

Why develop locally

Moisture-sensitive industry should not wait on imports.

Low-humidity equipment is largely imported today. That means long lead times, foreign-currency exposure, and service that depends on parts from abroad.

Reduced import reliance

Developing core humidity-control technology in Pakistan, so local industry has a local option.

Serviceable at home

Spares, repairs and upgrades from the team that designed the equipment, without an import cycle.

Built around the process

Configurations shaped by local climate, local moisture loads and local plant layouts.

Industrial dehumidifier In development

A locally developed industrial dehumidifier.

Many processes need air drier than ordinary air conditioning can deliver: hygroscopic powders, gelatin capsules, effervescent products, lithium processing and cold stores among them. A desiccant rotor dehumidifier dries air by adsorption rather than condensation, so it keeps working at low dew points and low temperatures where cooling coils cannot.

Desiccant rotor dehumidifier, operating principle Humid process air is filtered and passes through the larger sector of a slowly rotating desiccant rotor, which adsorbs its moisture. The process fan delivers the dry air. A smaller reactivation air stream is filtered, heated and passed through the rotor's reactivation sector in the opposite direction, driving the moisture out; the reactivation fan exhausts this wet air outdoors. Desiccant wheel technology In development

The next generation of humidity control, developed in Pakistan.

A desiccant wheel is a slowly rotating honeycomb matrix coated with a moisture-adsorbing material. Most of its face dries the process air; a smaller sector is swept by heated regeneration air that drives the collected moisture out. Continuous rotation gives continuous drying, and can reach humidity levels that cooling coils alone cannot.

Desiccant wheel: adsorption and regeneration A rotating desiccant wheel. Process air passes through the larger lower sector, where the desiccant adsorbs moisture and dry air leaves. The wheel carries the moisture-loaded desiccant into the upper regeneration sector, where heated air flowing in the opposite direction drives the moisture out and exhausts it. Sector colour shows how much moisture the desiccant holds: cyan is dry, amber is loaded. Run the wheel

Change rotation speed and regeneration heat and watch how the desiccant and the outlet air respond.

Rotation is accelerated for illustration; industrial wheels typically turn at a few to a few tens of revolutions per hour.

Adsorption

Process air passes through the larger sector of the wheel. The desiccant attracts water vapour onto its surface, so drier air leaves the wheel.

Rotation

The wheel turns slowly, carrying moisture-loaded desiccant from the process sector into the regeneration sector.

Regeneration

A smaller stream of air is heated and passed through the wheel in the opposite direction. The heat releases the held moisture.

Exhaust

The warm, moist regeneration air is exhausted outdoors, and the dried desiccant rotates back into the process sector.
