Designed around the process. Built to be serviced.

ValensAir engineers equipment from the duty upwards. We size from your process data, fabricate to drawings you approve, and design every unit so it can be maintained close to where it runs.

Design philosophy

Physics first. Catalogue second.

Equipment that fits the process runs better, uses less energy and lasts longer than equipment chosen from a table.

Start from the duty

Every selection begins with real process data: loads, conditions, site climate and constraints.

Engineer the whole system

A dust collector is only as good as its hoods; a cooling tower only as good as its water treatment. We look at the system, not just the box.

Serviceability is a design input

Access doors, replaceable components and locally available spares are decided at the drawing stage.

Evidence over claims

We publish what we have built and verified. Anything still to be confirmed is labelled as such.

How a project runs

From enquiry to equipment in service.

One engineering team carries the project from application review through commissioning and support.

  1. Application review

We start from your process: what the equipment must do, where it will run and what it connects to.

  2. Thermal and airflow design

Heat loads, psychrometrics, airflow, pressure drop and dust data become a sized selection, not a guess.

  3. Detailed engineering

General arrangement drawings, materials, connections and access are agreed before anything is cut.

  4. Fabrication

Casings, frames and assemblies are fabricated to the approved drawings and project specification.

  5. Inspection

Dimensional, assembly and functional checks are recorded against the project’s inspection and test plan.

  6. Delivery and installation

Equipment is shipped in sections designed for site access, and installed under our supervision.

  7. Commissioning

We start up, balance and verify the equipment against the design duty on site.

  8. Service and support

Spares, maintenance and modifications are available locally, from the people who designed it.

Application engineering

Air changes state in every section.

Controlled environments are a chain of physical processes: mixing, filtering, cooling below dew point, reheating and pressurising. Getting each step right is what holds a room on specification.

Air handling unit, operating principle Outdoor and return air are mixed, filtered in stages, cooled below dew point to remove moisture, reheated, and delivered by the supply fan through terminal HEPA filters to a room held at positive pressure. Outdoor air Return air from the room Room + Mixing Filtration Cooling Reheat Supply fan Discharge

Follow the air

Air changes state at every section. Select a section to see what it does to the air.

  • Outdoor air
  • Return air
  • Dust captured by filters
  • Cooled and dehumidified
  • Reheated supply
Illustration shows a typical controlled-environment AHU arrangement. Sections are selected per project.

Fabrication and customisation

Built to your plant, not to a brochure.

Local manufacturing means the equipment can be adapted to your site rather than your site adapted to the equipment.

  • Dimensions and sectioning to suit site access and existing structures
  • Materials selected for the process: mild steel, galvanised or stainless, per specification
  • Connections, nozzles and flanges matched to existing pipework and ductwork
  • Access doors, platforms and inspection points where your maintenance team needs them
  • Motors, controls and instruments to your preferred makes where specified

Quality checks

Checked before it leaves.

Checks are agreed per project in an inspection and test plan, and the results are handed over with the equipment.

  • Dimensional checks against approved drawings
  • Weld and fabrication visual inspection
  • Coil and casing leak checks where applicable
  • Fan rotation, vibration and run checks
  • Electrical and control wiring checks
  • Documentation pack: drawings, data and test records

What we need to engineer your equipment

Have this data ready and we can move straight to a sized proposal. Missing something? We can help you establish it.

Cooling towers
Heat load, circulating flow, hot and cold water temperatures, site wet-bulb, water quality.
Dust collection
Airflow, dust type and particle size, loading, temperature, moisture and combustibility.
Air handling
Room conditions, air change rates, fresh-air fraction, filtration level and pressure regime.
Humidity control
Target dew point or RH, moisture loads, airflow and regeneration energy available.

Tell us about your process.

Share your duty, site conditions and drawings. Our engineers will review the application and come back with a technical proposal.
